About Captain Nick

I’ve been running boats as long as I can remember. At 10 years old, I started running my first boat alone, A Boston Whaler 170 Montauk, and never really slowed down. By 13, I was working at the local yacht club, spending every summer on the water and learning the ropes from the ground up.

As I grew older, I developed a passion for sailing and became increasingly competitive. I started racing high-performance skiffs, such as the 49er and 49erFX, eventually competing internationally and pushing myself to the limit in the sailing world. I even spent a year on the College of Charleston’s sailing team before deciding to shift gears.

Instead of chasing Olympic campaigns, I decided to turn my lifelong passion for boats into a professional path, earning my U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License and getting to work. These days, I run private charters, captain other people’s boats, deliver vessels, and teach new boaters how to handle their own.

Whether I’m at the helm of a charter in Charleston or moving a boat up to Long Island, I bring the same mindset I always have: stay sharp, stay calm, and enjoy the ride.
